Friction – Chapter Five.
The salty smell
tickled me.
The fresh breeze
welcomed me.
L’océan m’appelle.
Glass bottle in my hand,
I looked around.
The beach was empty.
Only the sound of seagulls
surrounded me.
Le cœur lourd,ma gorge serrée. It wasn’t sadness.
I was overwhelmed.
Not by burdens,
not by responsibilities.
Je suis à ma limite. My feelings were handling me.
I needed release,
a call to let go.
And more than anything,
I needed a reply.
I took a deep inhale,
gathered all my melancholy,
and exhaled my tamashiiinto the empty bottle.
Then,
I threw my soul
to an unknown caller.
I felt baka for doing this.
I watched the waves
pushing the bottle back,
as if it was, too,
intrus.
I felt more stupid
for disturbing
its creatures.
I took the bottle,
wet with salty water,
heavy with emotions,
unwanted by the ocean.
It would have to be
enough of a reply,
for now.
I watched the seagulls.
The ocean protected
its residents.
Nature remained
undisturbed
by my little show.
In that moment,
I felt insignifiant,
fragile,
almost non-existent
compared to
cette grandeur.
I felt my shame
mocking me.
**Tiny human,
you are ridiculous,**it whispered.
I embarrassed my tired soul,
I took my filled bottle,
and apologized
to the scene.
It was all I could do.
